Over the years, I've managed to acquire all the violin Bespoke rosins, including Supple & Crisp. So having recently purchased a nice bow, I was able to dial in the particular Leatherwood rosin that was best for me.
But, there's another avenue Leatherwood might explore. I find that, a little extra "dust" on the bow changes the tone of my violin in a way that I rather like. So, I give my 50%/50% Bespoke rosin a swipe or two with 220 sandpaper before rosining my bow. It gives my violin a little more of a musty, maybe sweeter, sound. Especially the E string.
