OUR BLENDS

Our different rosin blends offer you a precise way to enhance the sound of your instrument. By choosing our Supple or Crisp recipes, or even a Bespoke blend, you can optimise the brightness, clarity, warmth and richness of your sound, and vary the strength of initial attack on the string.

We can create recipes to suit varying playing contexts or repertoire, such as when playing as a concerto soloist, in chamber music or in an orchestra.

Your bespoke rosin will generally last 2-5 years with intensive use.

A warm and softer sound, consistent traction that feels velvety and rich; this recipe maintains a reliably sharp attack on the string.

The supple blend generates a more powerful and focused sound from a softer and lighter bow with less ‘bite’. Supple also enhances the sounds of a deep / warm sounding instrument by making it sound more resonant. Supple can also ‘soften’ an instrument which is too loud, bright or one-dimensional in sound.

What Our Customers Think

A decisive attack, firm traction and crisp sautille; this recipe creates an undeniably forthright sound through a glassier texture.

The crisp blend works well with an instrument with lots of resonance but is a little ‘woolly’ in sound, offering it greater clarity and articulation. Crisp also assists bows or techniques that struggle to achieve a clear and articulate spiccato or sautille. Crisp can also assist small student or cheap instruments, by enhancing their sound to be brighter and sometimes louder; and beginning students find it easier to articulate with crisp.

What Our Customers Think

Personally customised blends:

Have a personally customised rosin recipe made for you to suit your exacting needs. We can further customise your recipe by changing the strength of initial attack, the heaviness of the texture and the level of brightness and warmth. We can also make recipes specific to unusual instrument such as electric and folk instruments.

75% crisp - "This bespoke recipe is the perfect blend for the soloist. It focuses on power, projection and clarity, with a slightly thicker texture that will highlight warm resonances."

75% supple - "If you love the warmth and depth of the supple blend, this recipe gives you added clarity and bite to the thicker texture

5050 - "A perfect mix of both supple and crisp recipes, this rosin recipe will have a balanced texture and sound palette"

Great rosin

I tried many rosins over the years but thought Leatherwood rosin was too expensive .After much frustration with other rosin I decided to finally buy the duo pack and from the moment I applied the rosin to the bow and played I was amazed at how good it felt and sounded. The only trouble is I couldn't decide which I prefered the supple or crisp! I use the supple mainly but like the crisp also. Tony

Cello Rosin

Bad. Recived in melted but already hard condition. The leather package doesn't provide enough safety for the rosin, not just heat, but also air comes to rosin, witch makes it much shorter lifetime for user.

Good rosin, but too slim

The rosin is terrific, but I would prefer a round cake instead of the slim rosin encased in wood which I find difficult to apply
